HMS Orientation went quite good actually. I was lucky enough to have two of my coursemates in the same group as me, and to have the rest of my groupmates to be really friendly. At first, the activities were quite boring to be honest. But on the third and fourth day, we got to hang out with our coursemates which was a blast. It was nice getting to know more people and to find a whole bunch of different yet similar people. Played some sort of running man game on the third day. Had dinner with ABM kids at old airport road afterwards. Was nice.
We went to the asian civilization museum on the fourth day. Tried out the Javanese gamelan which was so so fun. Got to explore the place a bit and then we learnt a little of Balinese dance. Balinese dance is ever so unique yet difficult. The control of their eyes and legs is insane. Especially the intensity in their eyes.
After that we joined back our HMS Orientation groups. Did talentime which was fun! Proud and happy, Phoenix's skit turned out great. The three leads did well. Unfortunately, we didn't win the most dynamic group which would have won us tickets. BUUUUUUT, we did win most creative. Which should make us ABM kids happy because that's what we should prize most, being creative. Pfft.
Anyway, here's the fun part. ABM kids wanted to get in Dance 4 Fun to support the other 4 abm-ers who were in it as well as the HMS group. We only got two tickets so we ended up camping outside the CC looking for tickets. Somehow, somewhere along the way, we ended up getting 10 tickets from people. Then the other 3 left outside manage to get in somehow.
Dance4Fun was fun. HMS being the reigning champions were expected to win, i'm not going to lie. It was heartbreaking when they announced that we got second. There was a moment of silence, of disbelief before everyone started clapping and cheering. There were dancers who instantly broke down in tears. It was painful to watch. You could tell how hard they had worked for this. In the end, they're still winners no matter what position they got.
HMS is awesome. Also, ABM is awesome. No regrets so far. <3
